"My crusade to inspire Efficient Shopping"
by Willo O'Brien

I truly believe in wishlists & registries and think it would be nice if people were more accepting to these practices for all holidays and occasions. The online world has made this so easy for us, picking out what we want & having our address on file. Gift giving has never been so simple! We're always asking our friends & loved ones what they want - and maybe they don't know, can't remember or they tell you & you forget! Most often people are buying gifts (with the best intentions, of course) that a couple or individual doesn't want or need and unfortunately worse - sometimes your thoughtful gift eventually gets thrown or put away in a closet & not used. Sure it is the thought that counts, but I can't help but think about our environment a little as well.... Meaning Buy Efficiently!

DISCLAIMER: Now you may be wondering if I'm so concerned about the environment, why am I asking people to buy at all? Well, first I am not opposed to buying completely. Sure, we are a very consumer driven society - and that is leading to a LOT of waste - But let's be realistic - People are still going to buy things - in fact it is what makes the world go round! I like toys, gadgets, gifts, the newest latest fun things out there... and I think to some degree we all do. What I am saying here is that it's a balance. We're going to buy, so why just not buy more efficiently. What's more is, I completely support you NOT BUYING - Make cookies! Burn a CD for someone, paint them a picture, write them a letter - GREAT!!! You could simply hand me a card that says "For Christmas this year I chose not to buy gifts because I know enough humans are doing it that they're not going to miss my $$$ So Merry Christmas with my love for you & the environment" WOO HOO!

Bottom line is, of course it's nice to be surprised, but why not really want & enjoy what you're giving & getting - knowing that it is what your recipient truly wants! Sorry if some of you still see this as at all selfish or weird to ask for what you want, but I see it as efficient & smart for our wasteful American consumerism. It has to start somewhere. :)

Please tell us what you want so we don't have to guess & give you something you don't need/want! :) EMAIL ME HERE

Thank you for reading & I hope you get all that you wish for this Holiday season!!
