yay! Ali's back in town (after her east coast tour) and I felt like I hadn't seen any of my show ho peeps in forever, so it was great to be reunited... and at what better show than Cold War Kids? yay! We heart them.

I'm stoked... this weekend I've set aside some time for me to work on some of MY stuff. I'm going to break out the Gocco & make a mess all over the blank American Apparel t-shirts that I ordered months ago & have been sitting in a pile in my closet ever since, waiting to get prettified. I love it when the rest of the general public (aka my clients) are celebrating a holiday. I feel like it's this sweet little gift of an extra 24 hours where I get to dive into whatever I need to do, whether it be catching up on a project for a client, or cleaning out my closet (which desperately needs to happen, actually).
Anyway, I like the idea of going to a BBQ and all, but after a month of partying it up pretty hard every weekend, I'm actually feeling really excited to dive back into my personal projects and take care of bidness!
I'm looking to get some custom pens made for a non profit I work with and was wondering if anyone either sells promotional items and/or has a friend they could refer me to? I know there's a ton of places out there - I just like helping friends out, so let me know if you have someone you think I should order through so they can get my sale! :)

Pretty funny how they call it 'cling film'... we're so used to saying "Saran Wrap". Right up there with "Bandaid" and "Kleenex".

this link to photos of a PETA protest where they have humans wrapped in cellophane, to compare eating meat with cannibalism. Which IMO is bullshit and they've taken it a little too far. Eating a cow is nowhere near like eating a human... gimme a break. *rolls eyes*

pretty shocking. PETA is definitely good at that!

WTF? This morning my iTunes (on shuffle) not only tried to play Dashboard Confessional *three times in one hour*, but then proceeded to play:

I've hit 'next' on most of them, so they're not logged on my
Last.fm, but looking there I see some others like Jesus & Marychain and Dinosaur Jr. Jeeshk. I think my iTunes is high or something. It's all like "oh maaan, the Doobie Brothers... I haven't heard them in forever!" hahaa.

I cannot even begin to describe how incredible lastnight's show was. The only word that comes to mind is EPIC. The Greek was a perfect venue for it, too. It was awesome to see this huge crowd going absolutely nuts. I love being in an audience where you get a huge surge of energy from all the excitement exuding from, what was in this case, hundreds of hard core Radiohead fans. Phenomenal!

but am not allowing myself to post them just yet, because I have got to get some work done today! Soon though... stay tooooooned. update: it's midnight & I'm finally done working and just simply can't wait to get off my computer. photos will be uploaded, sorted, etc. at some point tomorrow. Hope you all had a fun day - esp. cam's whole birthday bbq crew - i wish i could have been there!

Lastnight I headed down to
BarCamp around 10:45. I showed up pretty late, but luckily a few peeps were still there. Actually even luckier is it was just in time for us to blow out of there & make our way to House of Shields. :)

I am LOVING this!!!
So I know it might be tiresome to hear over and over from me... but seriously? My friends are so kick ass! My life amazes me sometimes... how can I have so much fun ALL. THE. TIME? :) As
Misty says "Being FABULOUS is hard!" hahaa. Or as
Brian commented the other day - and I love this - it's like we're partying superheroes or something! haha! aww yaaa!! :)
So, all this is coming from my just posting the photos & videos from last Friday night's dinner party at Lyne's. Here it was the night before
my huge birthday bash and Lyne & Jo (Lyne's beautiful friend visiting, who she met in Thailand) decide to throw a dinner party at Lyne's house. Innocent enough, right? Well, get enough glasses of wine in us and watch out! haha!! In attendance were Lyne, Jo & I, of course, and our good friends Jim, Scott,
Hez and Bill.
Dinner was DELISH (thanks Jo!) and the wine was flowing. The best part was hearing Hez periodically say "I'm so wasted!" hahaha! Oh man, seriously - who knew, but it became an absolutely hysterical night - most notably for the Photo Face Off game that had me in stitches!!! See, somehow, although not surprisingly with Lyne, Hez & I in the same room, we decided to have a "Photo Face Off" and next thing you know we had teams poised at opposite ends of the kitchen striking our most fierce poses for the opposite team's camera! ha!! However, sneaky me decided to video it & the results are side-splitting. We are all cracking up so hard, that
this video makes me laugh out loud every time I watch it! hahah!! SO FUNNY!

Ryan) to the Futureheads show Sunday night w/
Ted &
Misty.
The French Kicks were the openers, and just like the last couple times I've seen them, they were boring and simply don't impress me live at all. I'll stick to listening to them on CD, because I do like them... just not live! The Futureheads on the other hand were great, as always! I love them. I managed to even stay standing long enough to make it through the encore, but I attribute that completely to the fact that it was such a great show! Big thanks to Ted for the tix & to Ryan for rallying last minute! xo

There are SO many funny little things that happened, man - what a night! I'll post more about it all soon, along with my photos, but as of right now there's already two albums up... oh no! Documentation of the debauchery!! :p
This one above is a small peek into it. The handsome devil on the right is my new boyfriend - who I've named "Puppet" (but you have to say it in a british accent). My friend Kristin *made* him!!! I'm SO IN LOVE WITH HIM! :) yay!! So ya, I think there's more than a few photos and even some video of me making out with him. hahaha!
Such good times... I don't even remember saying goodbye to most people, but think it's safe to say the party was rockin till at least 4:30 in the morning... and we even had a little surprise visitor at like 5am, a friend of mine who was here earlier and who had left & came back still ready to party! haa! Oh man, seriously... this party was sooo fun! Yay - thanks again, everyone! My friends rule!! xoxoxoxoxo

I believe in wishlists. Plus, if you're anything like me, I love to buy a gift for someone that they really want or need! So without further sticking-my-foot-in-my-mouth adieu, here's what I'm wishing for this year:
Flickr Pro acct for me. UPDATE: Yay!!! my sweet sho ho pro sistaaa Ali just got this for me! aww!! SO appropriate that she did considering she's in 99% of them! :p yay!! Thanks shugs!! - Some kind of laptop cooling thing for when it's sitting on my desk working like a horse 14 hours/day. Like these legs, or the Coolpad or the iBreeze or the iCurve. How's that for choices? haha. Feel free to comment if you know one is better over the other.
- This laptop bag. But I also really want this one - in the "Motel" style, but it doesn't have a strap or handle, it's just a sleeve, and I need even a small little handle. Oooh hey look! This site has all of them... and offers gift certificates. *wink, wink*

Around 5:30 this morning I got that familiar, but nerve-wracking, sensation of my entire bed shaking. Waking up from a dead sleep for a second it really feels like someone's trying to shake you awake - or that someone, or some thing, just jumped on your bed. I shot straight up in bed, because honestly, if shit does go flying, I want to see it! haha. I got up, went to the bathroom, and then crawled back in bed. zzzzzz.

or maybe it's the new Thursday, considering I stay home a lot of Friday nights after going to shows a couple other nights over the course of a week? Yikes, that last sentence hurts my head. So anyway - Tuesday, ya know? Tuesday RULES! :p
It all started like most any other Tuesday: we have a kick ass show to hit. The Walkmen @ GAMH. aww yaaa. This time, double the k.a. cuz it's our boyfriend Hamilton! *sigh* we love him. And I couldn't stop thinking dirty thoughts about him the entire time he was up there performing. yumm! Oh how I wished he would have joined us at the Hemlock afterwards. :) But I'm getting ahead of myself...
So, guess who was in town lastnight for "one night only"? (however, if we have anything to say about that - he'll be staying for the weekend in order to be here for my birthday party!)

To have it warm like that is soooo dreamy. Lucky me it was an apple fritter. Actually at the moment I didn't care - cuz really, is there ever a bad donut? :)
After having some deliciousness I had to deal w/ where my car was parked for the night, and THANKFULLY my uber helpful friends Kristin & Michael took care of it for me - yay!! you guys rule! But then the funniest part is the drunken blogging that transpired when we got back to Ali's. :) So I until more photos get posted, I will leave you with these:

The Herms play, after getting to know a few of the band members better & listening to their new album over the last couple months.
I apologize in advance for uploading so many slightly similar photos, but it can be hard for me to decide between photos when they're friends of mine. I guess I feel like I'd like to give them the opportunity to see each little nuance between the photos, as sometimes the lead singer looks better in one, but a better shot of the drummer in the next. I worked the entirety of last weekend's 3 day holiday weekend, so this weekend I must have been making up for it because it was parties galore! I actually was invited to three on Saturday and two on Sunday... let the fun begin!
First of all, Saturday I had a feeling I'd only get to one of three, which was fine. So, around 4pm Ali & I headed over to Kristen's house with a bag full of white wine, beer, sausages and sweets for a good ol' fashioned BBQ. Ryan showed up a little later and I got to hang out w/ my good friends Stig & Matt, in addition to meeting some other cool new people there. It was my first time meeting Paul's baby, and she is ADORABLE! So although the album has shots of my friends & I, it's largely cutie baby Ella. :)

Buzzed & ready to party some more, we all headed to the Gold Cane in the upper Haight. There aren't many photos of the evening past dusk, since my damn camera's flash doesn't work anymore, but I think Tantek (who showed up later) may have some - and I think Ryan might have a few, too. Anyway, there we had many drinks and even played a game - Quibble? Mario & John met us there, and Buzz showed up later. Pretty fun night!

Which was only a concern because I had to get to a show! :)
Ali & I had tix to see Giant Drag & Pretty Girls Make Graves @ GAMH, and it was SO GOOD!!!! I was still all dressed up from Matt's formal cocktail bday party, which was odd since I'm usually at shows in t-shirt, jeans & converse, but hey something different I suppose! :) The show was great and overall a fabulous crescendo to an amazing weekend!

This was taken on Sunday at Ted & Misty's awesome "Midwest Invades SF" Party they threw for Misty's sister Jen & her kids who were in town. We enjoyed mimosas, bloody marys & marias, bagels, and way too many cookies & sweets! :) So fun!
The biggest treat of all though was that we got a small private "Living Room Set" by Dino of Serene Lakes & one by Hijack the Disco! We're so lucky!!!
Both of them played some new, unreleased songs and to be able to see these incredibly talented musicians play for just us in this intimate setting... seriously? I felt so honored. I love these guys!!
