I have no idea how it got on my
calendar (besides the notion that I simply saw it somewhere and marked it down), but just in case any of you are planning to go to Amoeba tonite for a free
QOTSA show... it's
not happening.
I'm trippin, cuz I have no idea where I saw it if I didn't get it off the Amoeba newsletter or
website. All I know is that it sucks, because I would have loved to see them play!! dangit!
Anyway, very sorry to all QOTSA & WilloToons fans! And a big thanks to Miss Jennimann for pointing it out to me!

Photos from my trip to LA have been posted! Here's a few details:
I cruised in early Friday morning (I drove down most of the way Thursday night and stayed at a hotel about an hour or so outside of LA) and headed to the WB Studios to meet up with a friend. Crossing my fingers I'd see some E.R. stars we cruised around the lot in a go cart & checked out the E.R. sets. Amazing how different they look on TV! ha! In the end, I only had one
small star sighting of
Freddie star,
Brian Austin Green, walking with his back to me, but hey - I was like 15 feet away, so there! Big news, dude.
After the WB tour I headed to WACKO, which my friend had raved about, so I had to go. It's this huge, awesome store with all the books, toys, and uber fun things you can possibly imagine fitting into one place. To boot, they've got a gallery (
La Luz de Jesus Gallery) in the back that, while I was there, was showing SHAG! It was great to see his real paintings in person. Here's one of my favs:

"The Amoralists" by SHAG
24"x 48", Acrylic & Vinyl Paint on Panel
I like to think she's talking to her kitty about how she's going to crash the party & make herself a drink. :)
:::::
By the way, Friday I had 2 of those lovely LA "oh crap, I missed my exit" adventures. :) Luckily I was in no real rush to get anywhere on time, so I didn't freak out too bad! I had another one the next day, however, that got me caught in an accident backup that took me an hour to get through. Do'h! So don't miss that part of LA at. all.
:::
Friday night after getting myself to Dee's place way up in Topanga Canyon, we got ready & headed down to Santa Monica, where we met up with Renee,
Chris &
Steve at the
World Cafe.

Me & Renee!
Renee & I grew up together in Steamboat, CO, but we haven't seen eachother in over 11 years! We got in touch again about a year or so ago after my 10 year reunion and I promised I'd call her when I went to LA next. :) It was so fun to have her join us for drinks and get to know her a little bit as an adult! :) She's a sweetie. Come visit me in SF, Renee!

Me & my girl, Dee Money out on the town (Santa Monica) Friday night!
Dee graciously hosted me at her sweet little Topana home. Here's the view out of her big sliding glass window doors:

Beautiful!

Dee & I again, partyin in a local bar in Topanga Canyon Saturday night!
awww yaaa local bars. So fun!
And because I can't resist, I have to post this hottie pic of Dee at one of our luxurious brunches at Pat's Topanga Grill:

aww yaa, baby. this girl rolls right!
Other highlights of the weekend:
- Meeting Steve of theSneeze!
- Meeting Chris of ChasetheLight! Read his account of the night here. That's pretty funny... Just for you, Chris: It was awesome meeting you in person finally! Happy Birthday!!!!!! :)
I love my internet friends! :)
- Seeing my dear friend Aletha, who I haven't seen since her wedding, five years ago! (look at that wedding link for a few photos of me with my natural blond hair!)
Ten years ago my friend Paula introduced me to Aletha & we became fast friends. To the tune of my sharing a bed with her for a couple months when we were both broke and needed the break on rent while we were living in a teeny 1 bedroom in West Hollywood. :)
Aletha introduced me to the joys of Del Taco and the beautiful hikes at our fingertips in the Malibu hills. A few years later we met up in Spain & traveled for 10 days together! We've been through a lot and even lost touch for a few years recently, but Aletha is an amazing person and I am so happy she's in my life.
Overall the weekend was so relaxing and it was good to get out of town! Here's a link to
all the photos, again.
Coming home I got to see
Karrie &
Wayne for a bit while they hopped in & out enjoying their last 24 hours in SF. I had gotten Karrie a little surprise for her bday, but to my surprise they had gifts for me when I returned! so sweet! Their gifts couldn't have been more perfect for me: A beautiful little necklace, which on one side has a little fish drawing with blue & orange (love those colors) & the other, some sweet little flowers. A reversable necklace? I love it! And the other was a
Nara book of postcards! yay!!! I love Nara! But I'm afraid none of these will ever get to see the light of day, I can't bear to part with even one of them! haha!
I'm so glad I was able to skip town & offer up my home to them while they were visiting. Plus it was so helpful and wonderful they took such good care of my Kazoobie, too! Thanks guys! Can't wait to see all your photos from your visit here! xoxo

As I said Sunday night I cruised back & caught the
Arcade Fire w/ Wolf Parade show at the Warfield and LOVED it! < that link is to the few photos I took from our balcony seats. Enjoy!
Monday, September 19, 2005
Lastnight on my way home, driving back from LA, I got a call from my friend Dan saying he had 4 tickets to the (very sold out) Arcade Fire/Wolf Parade show. I was stoked... mostly because I have fallen in love with the new
Wolf Parade album and wanted to see them so bad! So I called everyone I knew, quickly found 3 friends who were into going, raced into the city as fast as I could (didn't even have time to go home and drop off my stuff first!), picked up the tix and went directly to the Warfield. wooohooo!
Long story short is that the show kicked ass. But since I have GOT to work & would like to spend some time adding some photos & more detail to the post, it'll have to wait till later. Just wanted to let anyone know who was keeping track that I'm back safe & sound. Photos & such will be posted soon. xo

I'm headin down to LA this weekend! While I'm away my friends,
Karrie &
Wayne, will be staying at my little garden apartment & taking care of the
FP.
I'm excited to hit the road and visit my friends in LA... I'm sure I'll have lots of stories to tell and photos to prove it! But for now, I gotta wrap up some work & hit the road! Have a great weekend, everyone.
Sunday, September 11, 2005
My activity has certainly picked up since last weekend! Friday night I stayed home & put a coat of primer on some furniture - wait till you see (not done, but will take photos when I am!). And then Saturday was chock full.
I woke up & put a coat of color on one of the pieces, then got ready and headed to my hair appt with a new
stylist: Paul! Recommended to me by
Hez &
Misty, this guy is awesome!! And since it's at Church & Market, I got to drop off my Holga film at Photoworks finally. The roll is from all the way back to my trip to Canada! jeeshk! I'm excited to get those back.
After my appt, I stopped by
Otsu, and picked up these
red mary janes I'd been wanting! And then even stopped in
Sunhee Moon and bought a belt that I'd seen the same same day I saw those shoes and have been thinking of ever since! Then I headed to my friend Rob's birthday BBQ!

Rob (the birthday boy), me, Matt & Stig
It was so fun to see all the people there. Tons of friends of theirs I knew from back when Matt & I were together. Great to see John's baby boy, and see Nicole again after so many years. I am so glad I stopped by!

After that I came home pretty wiped out. I watched the
Apple's iTunes/iPod Nano release video (that actually taught me a few things about the iTunes 5 I wasn't aware of - thanks
Joe!), and then crawled into bed & took a quick catnap! All this activity after hardly any for a week had me wiped out. haha!
After a very short, but nice, little nap, Lyne called & I got up to start getting ready for my dinner out w/ Sandy & Derek! Sandy & I met in Colorado about 10 years ago and she was an integral part in my move to San Francisco!
A few years after I moved here she met Derek, and it wasn't long before they moved up to Healdsburg to open their restaurant: Tastings! Tastings was a success and they were listed in the Zagat's top 50 and everything! After a few years there they decided to move to Maui, where Tastings is flourishing once again. If you go to Maui, be sure to eat there & tell them I sent you! :)
Tastings Wine Bar & Grill 1913 South Kihei Rd., Kihei 808-879-8711.
"Duck out of South Kihei traffic into this slice of Sonoma’s finest—an award-winning restaurant transplanted from Healdsburg, CA. Slurp down a spanking fresh oyster and pair it with some bubbly or a half bottle of crisp white wine. Chef-owner Derek McCarthy utilizes local ingredients to push the frontier of island dining. The compelling menu of small “tastings” includes flat-iron steak, roasted beet and goat cheese salad, and house-smoked duck with hazelnuts and spinach. New American. Open for Dinner $-$$"- Maui Magazine Dining Guide
Lucky for me they come back to visit their friends and Sandy's family once a year, and when they do it most always involves a FEAST! They'd been hearing great things about SF's Marina restaurant
A 16 - even all the way in Maui - so they had to try it for themselves. And try it we did! I think we had one of everything on the menu & it was delicious!! Paired with great wine & wonderful company - it was a delightful evening!

Ken, Anna, Frank, Sandy, David (in back), Derek & me
Anna & Frank are long time fans of Tastings restaurant (and Derek's amazing cooking) from when it was located in Healdsburg, and have remained in contact with Derek & Sandy even after they relocated to Maui. Frank works at
Jordan Winery up north, and knows his wines & great food! They are a very sweet couple and it was so fun to get to know them lastnight. Derek & Sandy have always surrounded themselves with such amazing people.
Case in point: It is always such a joy to see David & Ken, too. Ken is a talented East Bay
artist, who is so animated and fun to talk to. He's an amazing person and we had beautiful discussions lastnight on everything from Hurricane Katrina, the lack of good education in this nation to our passions & desires to create art. David is a doll, and was one of the first people I met in San Francisco. Him & Sandy showed me around the city & I'll never forget the great memories of that first weekend. I love David so much & am so happy that I am able to see him again after all these years! xoxo

Today I've been chillin. I had a wonderful conversation with my friend
Karrie. Her &
Wayne are going to stay here next weekend while Lyne & I head down to LA! I'm glad I can repay the favor of offering them a place to stay since they so graciously hosted me while
I was in Brooklyn this last spring. Plus, they're kitty lovers & so they'll be kitty sitting Kazoobie, too!
OK, off to finish up the furniture painting. Hope you all had a great weekend!

Happy Birthday, Jee! (yesterday) Have fun in Italy!
Happy Birthday,
Misty! You are AWESOME!!!
And last, but not least.... my
little sister is turning 14 today!
Happy Birthday, Haylie! xoxop.s. send me a piece of yummy birthday cake! :p
I just posted
photos from lastnight's show: Olivia Tremor Control w/ Skygreen Leopards @ GAMH. And right as I finished I realized Fotki (my photo album service) just made a huge change! They now have a Flash slideshow (it's about time they kicked that damn Java to the curb!!) and have the album description at the top of the page & more! wowie! Click the link above to check it out for yourself. I have to update some of my CSS to accommodate for some of the changes, but very cool, Fotki!
Olivia Tremor Control was GREAT! I liked them way more than I thought I would. I guess mostly because some of their more spacey/dreamy/experimental stuff had me scared I wasn't going to like it, but they were fantastic! Their pop hits are so good, and I agree with
Jem & BeeDub (both who were at the show lastnight, as well) that
Dusk at Cubist Castle is a damn fine album. And I can now confidently say: live, they did not disappoint! I loved how many instruments they had up there: banjo, saw, trumpet, tuba, clarinet, and even some crazy percussion on a plastic lamb & metal teakettle, too! Awesome!
Skygreen Leopards opened, and they were great. Their music is warm and inviting with delicate harmonies and soft whisps of steady percussion (played by our friend, and Jem's
bandmate, Jasmine!). They reminded me a lot of Iron & Wine, if you're familiar w/ them.
I expired early, as I knew I would. I've been going to bed early and considering this is only the 3rd time I've left the house in the last week, I feared that if I didn't get home before 11:30 I might turn into a pumpkin! So I watched the majority of the set & scooted out the door. Just in time for a big ol' police roundup on O'Farrell no less. ha!
I slept so amazing lastnight. This whole not drinking & going to bed early thing is pretty amazing. (no waving fingers or I-told-you-so's please :). Seriously, though... I have been going to bed around 11 (even though 1/2 the time it takes me a good hour to actually fall asleep because my body is so not used to it. That, and my mind is an active little bunnythinker!), and my eyes open wide awake around 8am. So not like me! haha!
Anyway, lastnight's dreams - and actually the night before's - were so detailed and amazing. I have to tell a bit of Wednesday night's, because it is SO damn funny. I literally was giggling out loud lastnight remembering it, so I just have to spill it here:
**insert wavey dream sequence**
It was really early in the morning, except I hadn't gone to bed yet. Apparently I'd been partying all night long and was wide awake. (hmm, see how my body is *wanting* to party? hahaa) I was at a park near my house, and for some reason standing before me were (please don't laugh. oh, ok, you can -it's hysterical) Brad Pitt and Matt Damon. They were completely naked, except for these silver fabric cod pieces (more like custom penis harnesses) and silver fabric angel wings. HAHHAHHA!!! Oh man, it gets better....
It was like they were there, being presented specifically for me. They had their arms crossed and were doing this pelvic thrust thing that left me trying to sneak a peak at their packages. HAHHAAA. Oh boy... what happened next can simply be classified as a sex dream, so I can't go into it, but it was WILD!! hahaha!
This dream had many parts to it... One being that I didn't want to go home yet, so I thought it'd be "funny" to walk into someone's house & act like I know them. So I went into this person's house & sat down on the couch, and started chatting with them. It was a woman, who seemed very nice & open to my being in her house. The living room was dark, and looking around I saw that she had about 6 kids (all African-American and she was white) who were watching cartoons. I chatted w/ her for a little bit, we actually had some nice conversation about dating or something, and then I excused myself and left. After that I decided to go home, only to find that my house was one big party!!! haha! Except it wasn't really my house, it was different... but there was this huge outdoor deck and there were tons of people partying there, and I said hello to everyone and talked about how I should probably go to bed instead of stay up with them longer.
Another part was me down at the park again, and when I decided to go home, I walked up my street & realized Jeff Kortas (guy I went to HS with) was following me. After we got to the top, we saw my Mom (who apparently in this version, I lived with) by our pool (uh ok!), and I told them both I planned to go to sleep laying out in the sun.
The last version of this whole thing that I remember was being down by the park again, and sitting on the doorstep of the house I'd barged into. Rick (my ex) came by and since I knew we'd both been partying all night I wanted him to be smart & just leave and go home, so that we didn't let the moment get the worst of us, if you know what I mean. So he came & talked to me for a bit, and then ended up leaving, which was good.
Lastnight's dream had more of Rick... and actually it made me feel really good. In this one we were going on a trip together to Morocco. Apparently we'd booked this trip before we broke up, so we decided to continue with it even though we weren't together anymore. (This actually happened with another ex of mine years ago, but we didn't necessarily plan to continue the trip together, and I stayed in Spain instead... but I won't go into that now :)
Another thing to note as part of my stance with Rick in this dream & in real life, is that not only are we both clear we cannot ever get back together, but he has a new girlfriend now (grumble, grumble).
So the first part of Rick & I's trip was staying in some hotel where we happened to somehow also be staying with these new lovers, who unfortunately just wanted to be super lovey and have sex all the time. A little awkward to say the least, in terms of where Rick & I were trying to be with each other. oy. I then remember something about a LOT of Moroccan beer that we were bring along with us, because we were meeting up with some family.
The biggest part of this dream was when I was in the shower, there was a see through shower curtain, and Rick was going to get in with me. And I was like, "No, you need to wait until I am done." Because, just because we may have done that before, buddy - doesn't mean I can handle it now! And not be able to touch each other? Nope, that's not going to work. So while I was in the shower, there was some song playing on the stereo... and we started singing this new song together about how we were moving forward with just being friends, and something silly about how it was hard we couldn't shower together anymore. HAHHAAA. Anyway, I was really proud of the song, and overall in the dream I felt so resolute and strong (much more than I am in real life, unfortunately) about our newly established friendship and moving past the emotional turmoil of the breakup.
Anyway - we go to Morocco & met up with the family, and we talked about the great food, etc. I won't bore you with the rest since it was kinda insignificant... but regardless, as you can read - I've been having some wild dreams!!! A little sexual tension to say the least. Freud would have a hay day. :)
It's actually really cool to work through my feelings with Rick in these dreams. I woke up this morning feeling happy that I'd seen him & spent time with him. And that we got to travel together, and he knew I was doing my best to be OK with his new relationship. oy... big stuff there for sure.
OK, back to work. TGIF, eh?! woohoo!
If you've downloaded the
new iTunes, you'll see it's got a slightly updated interface! I dig it. (not sure if PC users see it, too - do you?) Anyway - Mac fans, you'll love
Daring Fireball's post about the refresh. Hilarious!
For those of you keeping track, I wanted to let you know that I think it's official: the hairball (and/or whatever it was lodged in his throat making it hard for him to swallow) has cleared!
I think it was pretty much gone all day yesterday, but I'd been hesitant to be sure, because honestly he got good at just not swallowing to avoid the pain. Plus, now that he's not making that big concerted effort to swallow, it's hard to tell when he's swallowing!
I'm thrilled & he seems to be much happier. phew!!! Thanks to Mike, Matt, Johnny & Trevor who kept checking in. xo

I'm
looking for a TDI Golf, know anyone selling one? :)
My friend
Eric is so sweet to me. He claims this is in response to
my note to him... apparently one kind gesture deserves another. ;)
Wow. Between this and just getting the new Deathcab for Cutie album, I'm having the BEST DAY!
Ok, I profusely apologize for my all out lie. I didn't update the show calendar a week ago as
promised. I know, FOR SHAME!!! But guess what? It's updated now!! *sheepish grin*
As always, there's some seriously amazing shows coming up. They don't call it ROCKTOBER for nothing! Sometimes I wish all I did was hang out at shows every single night. I should be hanging out at 330 Ritch & the Rickshaw more... I'll bet I'd be cooler if I did. haha.
Anyway, check it out & hit some shows:

Let's go have a drink at The Willo!
My friend Hai sent me this pic he took up near Grass Valley. A bar named after me! hahaha!! uh...AWESOME!

Good news! I think I'm on the road to recovery. Yesterday I was on a DayQuil high, and felt *way* better than Monday. And today I didn't even have to take the drugs! woohoo! I also finally spoke w/ my friends (whose germy kids I blame), and it turns out they've been totally sick in bed all week, too. And I know of 3 others who have had it bad. Total can't-get-out-of-bed-for-a-couple-days sick. No fun! It's goin around people... heed this warning, take your vitamins & get well rested now so you don't get it, too!
On the Kazoobie front, there's movement (aka, more random hacking and such) but it's still in there. After speaking w/ a few people, it's rather common and unfortunately probably just a gigantic hairball. Poor baby.
Mike said his kitty's took 3-4 days to finally clear, so let's hope we don't have any more to go than another day. Anyway, just keeping you posted on that. Thrilling material, I know!
I left the house tonite for the first time in days, and although I was gone for only a few hours, my welcome home was like I'd been gone for days. We had a snuggle session that could melt an ice-cap. Dreamy. I love this fuzzy guy!!!
OK, I put a very full day in, so I'm going to go rest a bit before my 11pm bedtime I've come so accustomed to lately. Here's to your health!
Monday, September 05, 2005
crap, i really hoped that after taking SUCH good care of myself all weekend I'd be feeling better today, but instead I feel worse! blah! around noon i was trying to do some work and just felt horrible, so went back to my station on the couch and ended up crashing out for another 3 hours.
super sad and scary news is my kitty seems to be having trouble swallowing. every time he does, it's an exaggerated swallow, like it hurts him. :( poor baby!!! he's still eating and drinking which is good, and seems fine energy & personality wise, but i will be calling the vet first thing tomorrow morning. unfortunately i know that this means i'll probably have to take him in, which he hates! i'm dreading that already, but i'm worried about him, so i sure hope he's ok.

Last week, after picking up
Jem for the Fort Oregon show (more on that later), I mentioned I'd noticed she hadn't been blogging very much. And we ended up agreeing that neither of us felt like we could rant about all the little things going on in our lives when they seem so insignificant in comparison to the tragedy so many are experiencing right now (Hurricane Katrina).
My friend
Aimee lives in New Orleans and I actually spoke to her right before picking up Jem, and found out her & her roommate were safe. Apparently they'd evacuated last weekend and are now living in a hotel in Baton Rouge for the unforeseeable future. Them and 5 cats! oh my! I was glad to hear that she's safe, especially because, as she even admitted, it could have been just as likely that she would have heard the warnings and chose to stay/stick it out like so many others. However, in her case the family she happened to be cat sitting for talked her into leaving just to be safe, so they went for it. All of her friends & family are glad she did!
Anyway, I have been doing a ton of stuff and haven't blogged about it at all... which only leads to a backup in my brain of what I want to blog about for one reason or another. But this weekend I'm home trying to fight off a cold, so it's as good of time as any to take some time to spill it all out and catch up.
Here's me today, chillin on the couch w/ my kitty & laptop. Kazoo *loves* it when I hang out on the couch! When I pulled out the blanket, he literally came running. :)

hi, this is what i look like when i'm home sick on the couch (haha)

me & my snuggle buddy
xoxo
Alright, so all the way to a week ago Friday:
Eric picked me up & we headed down to say hi to our
Odeo/
Adaptive Path peeps who decided to have a Friday afternoon BBQ in South Park. We didn't stay for long, and unfortunately I didn't take one photo (what is happening with me & my forgetting to snap photos!?), but
Dom took
this one, which is too cool.
So, after saying hello, and singing
Sara Happy Birthday we took off to our next destination: Sausalito, where we met up with David, Elana & their too kiddos for jazz in the park. (Exactly what I did the Friday before, see those
photos here, since somehow I didn't take the camera out last Friday!) We got there way too late, so Elana & Zach left and David, Marissa, Eric & I went for Mexican. It was nice to hang w/ all of them!
After Eric dropped me off, I changed & hopped in my car to meet
Ali at the Red Devil Lounge for
Scissors for Lefty! One of the openers was a band called
Climber from Oregon, and I enjoyed their set. They reminded me of Radiohead a bit, and overall left me intrigued. I might have to buy their album to check it out more.
Scissors for Lefty was great (
again), and I couldn't believe how hard I was crushing on cutie lead singer Bryan all night. :) He's really adorable and I snapped a lot of photos, despite his other mic stand being in the way on most of them, trying to get a snapshot of how cute his smile is. Hi fan girl! hahaa Seriously, though, his whole band is so fun to watch & I'm sure Ali & I will try to catch another show of theirs soon (Hemlock & BotH are next!).

Last Saturday I worked for about 10 hours, and then Sunday afternoon I finally repotted
my huge tree plant! It's sooooo much happier now!! AND I repotted a couple others (including my
orchid that I cannot believe even bloomed this summer with the conditions I just realized it had been living in), gave them all fresh new soil, and even did a slight re-arrange of my living room! It was a good day! Sunday night Stig & I went over to Matt's and he made us dinner! YUM! He's always been such an amazing cook and it was great to see both those guys again. I believe (and hope) we'll all be friends for life, which is such a nice feeling. We watched Summer of Sam, which I thought was fantastic!
Monday night my neighbor, Nathan & I ordered DELICIOUS take out
sushi from
Tao Yin and watched Disc 1 of Six Feet Under: Season 4! This show slays me... it's soo good! I can't wait for Disc 2! I even had a bottle of saki
Chris had given me for my birthday - Thanks Chris! - and I even had a saki set my friend Robin had given me long ago, so it all came together and was so fun! Oh, I also watched All About My Mother last week, and loved it.
::::
Hi marathon post, you still with me?
OK, so Wednesday night after BAM, I picked up Jem & Ali & we headed over to
Fort Oregon in the East Bay. It's basically this guy's basement where he buys a keg, arranges some bands, charges $4 at the door and ta-da: instant show! You gotta check out the photos to see all the crazy TV's stacked up in their front yard, too. wild! So who was playing this prestigious show? None other than our favorite local boys
Birdmonster &
Hijack the Disco played (along w/ 2 other bands), and it was such a fun night.

Jem, Ali, me & Ted hangin out in the backyard @ Fort Oregon
(hez & misty - look! I bought a belt! ha!)

Birdmonster @ Fort Oregon

Hijack the Disco @ Fort Oregon
(except Dave's missing out of this shot, there's some of him in the full album, though!)
Honestly, watching these two bands play and knowing them as friends, I was just overcome with this amazing feeling that night. I am so stoked to know such incredibly talented people & I truly feel
honored to watch them rock out doing what they love. So. Awesome!!! xoxo

Which pretty much leads me up to now, since Thursday night I was feeling this coming on, and by Friday afternoon I literally had to stop working and take a nap. I've been going to bed at 11 every night (which is SO early for me!) and drinking lots of fluids trying to take care of myself big time. I know I must have caught it from the
Weingal kiddos last Friday night. Kids are so germ-y!
So combined with a little bit of work, I've been catchin up on TiVo & Netflix. Lastnight I watched a marathon of TiVo'd episodes ABC's
LOST. Have you seen it? Lyne kept telling me all last season how good it was, so I started TiVo'ing it, but hadn't watched any of them yet. It only took one to hook me... it's so great! But I'm not sure what will happen once the new season starts, because I think it conflicts with one of my other favs... but we'll see. Speaking of favorite shows though, I'm so excited for a new season of Will & Grace, Scrubs & ER! :) Oh, and while I'm on the subject of guilty TV pleasures, I also am totally hooked on
Laguna Beach! ha!
As for movies, lastnight (and into this morning, because I was too tired to finish it) I watched Thelma & Louise. Can you believe I've never seen that movie!? It's great!! Now I'm off to make dinner & watch my next movie: The Goonies!! yay!! (Ali & Trevor, wish you were here!)

HOLY SH*T!!!!!!!! I dropped off my Powerbook on Monday night, so it maybe shipped out Tuesday morning, and just now DHL dropped it off! WOW!!!
Holy turn around, eh!? I can't believe it! I actually have been receiving a lot of packages this week, but was sure I'd received the last of them, so when this arrived I had no idea what it was, set it down and went back to work. HA! Then about an hour later, I looked over and was like "oh ya, I wonder what is in there?" and so I opened it. Low & behold it was my baby!!! I almost cried! hahaa!!!
So, turns out they did wipe it completely (never listen to them if they say they might not, they almost aaaaaalways do), so right now I'm doing a full restore from
Retrospect's Sunday 8/28 backup, that should put me right where I left off! *crossing my fingers*
Man, today is a good day!!!
p.s. Apple's Customer Service on this has me dumbfounded and glowing. In addition, calling Retrospect for Support on how to do this full restore was a piece of cake: within 15 minutes they walked me through how to get the restoration process started. They're awesome!!
UPDATE: I am completely sold on Retrospect forever... how *amazing* that I was able to completely recover my entire operating system, applications, bookmarks, EVERYTHING exactly as it was before it crashed. *kneels down & thanks the mac and retrospect gods* Let this be a message to you all: BACKUP NOW!
