Internet radio needs your help!
Not sure if you all have heard about this yet, but it's best summarized Ted's posts on the issue, especially this one:"The Copyright Royalty Board just substantially increased the fees internet radio sites must pay to record labels -- fees not paid by traditional radio stations -- a move that will kill off every last independent online radio station and websites like Pandora. Once these new rates kick in the wealth of programming available during what will be remembered as the Golden Age of Internet Radio will disappear almost overnight. All that will remain will be the stations and sites funded by the biggest of the big money corporations. What Can YOU Do to Help Save Internet Radio? I'm so glad you asked. :)
- Post a link or banner on your site: Raise awareness. There are seriously people who don't know about this. Just mention Clear Channel (aka the devil), and most people are more than willing to help you fight the good fight.
- Call your Congress person! Go to this site, enter your zip code & pick up the phone. It just takes a second & every voice counts!
