party peeeeeeeople!!
So lastnight was an INSANELY good time. My friend Stig & I started out the night going out for some DELICIOUS Thai food.... I have been craving Thai - it had been way to long.. Plus, it'd been awhile since Stig & I had hung out too - So as soon as I picked him up, we were all revved up to get our party on... Him and I are bad influences on eachother in the best way :)We showed up @ Jane's party (at the Makeout Room) and the party was still just getting started - nobody was on the dance floor yet & it felt like we were gonna have the place to ourselves. (well, all 30 some friends of hers anyway :) That's why we'd all gotten there pretty early, so it worked out!!
Well, a couple glasses of wine (at dinner) and a few *delicious* Bombay Gimlets later, Stig & I were ready to DANCE! We've taken swing & salsa classes together - so we kick some serious ass on the dance floor. The man makes me look good out there, mostly cuz he is just such a *great* lead. Everyone's lookin at us like we're professionals or something - but it helps that Stig & I have danced together so many times that I know his mojo sooo well.... He rocks and we have SO much fun. I gotta get some video of us sometime.
I was also WAY psyched to see Kat & Jee again after SOO long!!!! Kat's been away in Italy for a couple weeks - and Jee went to Chicago for the holidays - and then Costa Rica!! (I'm sooo damn jealous of them both!! :) By midnight we were sitting in a booth in a SERIOUS rendevouz girlie love session... it was hott :) AND you'll be delighted to know - somebody took photos. (I'll post a link when I get it)
Stig & I were repeat offenders on the dance floor - eventually becoming way too sloppy drunk to dance like the pro's that we are, so we decided we better stick to flirting with random people and bugging the bouncer out front while cooling off. Speaking of bugging the bar staff - Guess who works there!? Kelley Stoltz!! Mid sentence with Angus (who Jane & Kat have talked about forever, I finally met!) I saw Kelley pickin up bar glasses and ran over and said "Hey, aren't you Kelley Stoltz?!" and told him how I'd just seen him play last week at the Jackpine Social Club Holiday Party... I asked him if he knew Ian (since he was the one who gave me his CD) - but totally spaced mentioning he was Ian from JYPU, I'm sure that woulda triggered who he is for him. Anyway - after that I just totally frickin rambled on to him, like the drunken fool that I am, about his CD and blah blah blah blah blah. And then I just didn't speak to him for the rest of the night, cuz I figured I'd molested him with my babbling enough for one night. :) Nice guy though.
Jem showed up later - which I was SOOOO psyched about. Jem is the best!!! She even smooched me!! YAY!!! Oh ya, and we have photos of that too :) aaawwww yaaaaaaaaa. Jem brought "Rio" and he was all spiffied up. They'd gone to their work holiday party - and so Jem was all dressed up in this super cutie outfit. Most notibly the super cute pink sweater with her Bart Davenport button adorning it in the most adorable way. LOVE HER!
After we closed the bar down, it was time to hit party #2. Lucia Willow (yes that's her real name!) was nice enough to give us a ride over there - and thank goodness, cuz it was pouring rain!!
The party was going OFF and it was soo fun to reunite w/ all those crazy party animals. Brian is the best party host EVER - and it was good to see Dave, Natalie, Kelly, Matt, Rachel & Adam again - and to finally meet Trip! OH!! And cool thing was I saw Michelle's friend Sunil there - and Jamie, who I'd met at Sunil's several months back. And Jenny was there - who is a friend of Ricks... Here Brian had invited me to their Orphan dinner blindly, but it's not taken long for us to see the web of friends we're connected by.
Jane, Jee, Kat & the crew had joined us at the party initially - and luckily I got my groove on dirty dancing with those hot ladies before they left. Birthday girl Jane has got some serious moves on the dance floor!! They took off & Stig didn't last too much longer before he had to "lay down". I flitted around the party chatting w/ people and then realized it was sooo late!!!! We caught cabs home around 5am. See? I told you those people have strange powers on me that make me want to party all night long!! But it's not just me, cuz when we left the party was still goin off hard & people were STILL showing up!!! WILD!!
Ok - now I gotta go get my car where I left it parked lastnight, clean up my place and get some work done.
